Calls and direct dials

105 / 181

companies where I found a decision-maker’s direct mobile (58%).

I fill the pipeline with calls, and calls through company switchboards gave far fewer warm leads than direct numbers.

Agents sort 3,014 app publishers by buying signals. A waterfall across Apollo and Kaspr then finds the decision-maker’s direct mobile, and I make every call.

How it works

  1. Sort 3,014 publishers · Claudeby buying signalsFrom: the app-store catalog, 22.5k appsTo: 199 companies on lead lists
  2. I drop what doesn’t fitthen I release the list
  3. Find the direct mobilenext role if no number turns upFrom: Apollo, Kaspr, company registers
  4. Check person and numbermobiles only, identity first
  5. Build the call listnumber, role, reason to callTo: a call list in a sheet. Companies without a mobile are parked for email
  6. I callevery call is mineTo: follow-up drafts, and a HubSpot task only on my word

What broke and what I changed

  • v1 found plenty of numbers, all of them switchboards.

Calls to them reached decision-makers far less often and gave far fewer warm leads. I rebuilt the pipeline around one rule: only a decision-maker’s own mobile goes on the list.

  • A data provider “matched” all 65 company directors I gave it. Only 12 had a LinkedIn profile.

A test with an invented name exposed the rest. Every match now goes through an identity check, and fabricated records are dropped.

  • An unknown company size was treated as small, so a large corporate’s CEO became the target.

I now fill in company size from the registers first. In a corporate the target is the budget owner.

  • Active clients ended up on a call list.

Nothing could tell me who was a client. Call lists now pass through the collision gate before I dial.

Guardrails

  • Only mobiles.

The check drops landlines, foreign prefixes and numbers shared between companies. When it is unsure, the number does not go on the list.

  • In corporates I call the budget owner, not the CEO.

Supervisory boards and HR are never targets.

  • Every call is mine.

Nothing is dialled or sent by the system. A HubSpot task is created only when I say so.

  • Paid lookups run on budgets.

Each has a checkpoint, and the export to the sheet is a dry run first.

What these numbers do not say: I can show reach, not a conversion rate. The calls produced warm leads and meetings up to board level, but I did not record every outcome, so I give no rate.
